Security Intelligence; Where Threat Equals Capability & Intent

By Ben Stark on November 12, 2016 0

Security Intelligence is concerned with the collection and protection of information relevant to protecting an organisation from external and inside threats.

Security Intelligence is primarily responsible for the protection of personnel, infrastructure, and equipment.

There is often a blurring of roles and responsibilities between intelligence and security.

As an intelligence professional, I’ve often myself as the ‘go to’ person for security related information and advice. As an intelligence professional;, you will need to ‘duel hat’, and be prepared to step into the realm of security regularly.

How Does Security Intelligence Work?

Security Intelligence is concerned with the collection and analysis of information that directly relates to threat of personnel, infrastructure and equipment.

A security analyst, will analyse information about the capability and intent of a threat to make an assessment on how likely (or unlikely) an event is to occur.
